After twenty-five years of copyediting reporters' stories, creating and writing content for three websites, and publishing more than a dozen novels, I've decided to throw my hat in the ring as a proofreader for fiction writers.
I am a native English speaker based in the USA and have a master's degree in communications. I prefer to proofread in Microsoft Word using the Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary as references. I will proofread your work for grammar, punctuation, and spelling. If you also require copy editing, I will improve the flow/readability of your work and suggest ways to optimize your sentence structure while keeping an eye on consistency and tone.
If you have a short story, novelette, novella, or novel that you'd like to have copyedited, proofread, or both, contact me with the genre of your work and how many words it includes. I would also like your short pitch of what the story is about.
If you're into world-building, I will need style sheets for each world with pertinent facts about the people, food, customs, unique vocabulary (including definitions), and the spelling of each character's name.
I also proofread articles and blog posts under two thousand words.
Note: I do not proofread work containing unnecessary violence, horror, or erotica. If you're unsure about the content you wish to submit, contact me first.
